Hello everyone and welcome to the 2025-2026 school year! This year is my first year as editor-in-chief here at The Nest and I cannot wait to see what we can do together! I am very excited for the experience and the opportunity to help us grow as a staff.

My Name is Jillian Katz.  I am 17 years old and I am in my senior year at Albany High. You will most likely see articles from me about politics and current events, but I may also write about other things I am interested in occasionally.  This year I will cover a variety of political issues such  Trump’s actions in office and how that will affect people as well as a few other articles I have planned on lighter topics.

We are always looking to hear your ideas, comments, and concerns about the nest and how we can improve. We are striving to be better than ever this year and keep improving.  Don’t be afraid to reach out, I will link all forms of communication below.  If you’re on the socials, give our Instagram a follow.

This year I am focusing on recruitment and getting our numbers up so the paper can continue once our seniors graduate and to cover a wider range of topics as a team. Personally, I hope to get two or more articles out every month, and with how many things are happening around the world I have no doubt that’s possible. I hope to hear from anyone who would like to contribute to the paper, even if it’s only a one-off thing.
