Friday, April 27th, fun. performed a sold out show at Northern Lights in Clifton Park. If you don’t recognize the name you will recognize the tune “We Are Young.” You know the song, it’s undeniably catchy and currently the background music for several recent car commercials.
The show sold out soon after ticket sales were open to the public. This does not happen often at Northern Lights and demonstrates the longing and demand for indie and alternative rock in the region. Just a week earlier, Passion Pit took the Northern Lights stage. Although the crowd was much smaller, the quality was top notch and the energy was high.
The band is on tour promoting their recent album Some Nights and didn’t play too many songs from their debut. The band stormed on stage to their song “One Foot.” The crowd was chanting the words to the song at the top of their lungs. There was a sea of hands clapping and waving. Their stage show included projections on a screen behind the band that were both classy and entertaining. The bands performance was strong throughout the entire night.
Fun. was exactly what you would think it would be, a ton of fun. Check Northernlightslive.com to see other upcoming shows. Bands such as The Maine and The Kooks are upcoming so grab your tickets while you can.
