Thursday night marked the last home game at Albany High for every senior on the Falcon football team; seniors that had seen many changes during their high school careers including the new turf field (which will be home to Falcon’s athletics for years to come).

Falcons of all grades desperately wanted to get a win for their fellow teammates in their final home game; however it wouldn’t be an easy task against CBA, a school well known for football. The offense once again struggled early but picked it up in the second half. Thankfully, the Falcons were able to move the ball at will against the CBA defense. In one dramatic moment, sophomore Quazae Dickens broke off 2 long runs, including one for a score.

Near the end, sophomore quarterback Steven Mentsy threw a beautiful fade pattern to Junior Caleb John who went over his defender and came down with it in the end zone for a touchdown, making the score 44-20, in CBA’s favor. Although the result wasn’t what the team was hoping for, this game was definitely something to build on for the remainder of the season, and a team who can move the ball along with a stout defense can raise some eyebrows for the rest of the year.

The Falcons (who now stand at 0-5) will face off against Saratoga Springs on Friday in an attempt to capture their first win of the season.
