Trey Parker and Matt Stone, program creators of the Comedy Central animated series South Park have made it no secret that this comedy series is not intended for the fans of SpongeBob.

The show aired first in 1997, and has since taken on Saddam Hussein, Osama bin Laden, Snookie, and Hillary Clinton. During a recent episode of South Park, the show featured Donald Trump and ended with the cartoon version of the Republican presidential candidate front-runner being sexually assaulted and murdered by Mr. Garrison. Has South Park finally gone too far?

This is a show, after all, that once painted God as a gap-toothed rhinoceros-monkey, portrays Satan as a simpering milquetoast and regularly features Jesus as a superhero – the kind who’s not afraid to ignore the peaceful teachings of the Sermon on the Mount to smite his opponents. The show has mocked Jews, Catholics, Mormons, Scientologists and atheists, among others.

In a way, every episode of South Park is about free speech”, stated Buzzfeed. Is South Park a new-age form of political and pop culture satire or is it walking on a thin line of blatant victimization? With one of the highest ratings on Comedy Central it seems that South Park can do no wrong. They have stepped across ‘the line’ multiple times and with every episode appear to cross more, and no one seems to want to stop them.
